Job Description

The Treasurer assumes the overall responsibility for the accounting, financial, and budget reporting systems for Spring Park United Church. 

In order that they may make informed decisions, the Treasurer provides the Board of Stewards and Official Board of Spring Park United Church with accurate and timely financial information.

With respect to all financial and taxation matters of Spring Park United Church, the Treasurer is the appointed liaison with the church’s auditors, financial institutions, the Canada Revenue Agency, the taxation department of the province of Prince Edward Island and the United Church of Canada.

The Treasurer will be a member of the Official Board, and as such, is required to be a member of Spring Park United Church.

Education    Post high school education in accounting and financial management.

 Experience/Skills

●        Has a solid knowledge of accounting as well as expertise in financial management of origanizations.

●        Possesses excellent decision-making and problem solving skills; takes initiative; works well independently.

●       Has excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills; able to communicated complex financial information and its implications to individuals without such expertise.

●        Has exemplary personal integrity; is trustworthy, loyal, and dependable.

 Other                     

●        A satisfactory Criminal Records Check must be provided prior to beginning employment.

 

Part Time            ~16 hours/month

 

Salary                    $3,600 annual (calculated at $300 per month)
